Matt Smith, CPA

Matt Smith is an Audit Manager at Hancock Askew’s Savannah office and has been with the firm since 2018. Matt provides audit and assurance services for a variety of industries including financial statement audits for public, private, and not-for-profit organizations. Matt also provides technical accounting consulting.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with a B.B.A in Accounting and later from Georgia Southern University with a Master’s of Accounting.

Matt serves on the Finance Committee of the Savannah Book Festival. He was also a participant in the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s Board Readiness Program.

Prior to his career in accounting, Matt served six years in the U.S. Army’s 160^th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the “Night Stalkers,” as a Helicopter Crewmember Supervisor completing six combat deployments to Afghanistan.
